New internal tools for managing payments
Unicredit Wepay was a project of digital innovation: the client needed to update their systems for big payments management that where still running on terminal interfaces. The goal was to transform them into a modern platform, in order to improve efficiency and control.
There were three separate sections for the platform, the two I worked on where:
- national payments
- international payments
In the first section there were several separate tools, each with different focuses and workflows, but with data crossing with each other. Their goal was to collect all the old tools for the national big payment in one place with a common interface.
The second section was a platform for managing outgoing and incoming big payment between international partners, maintaining a similarity of interface with the other sections.
The main challenge of the project was to understand the processes workflows of the banking system. Being an internal platform we had to take in account not only the huge amount of data the users had to insert, manage and view, but also to be in compliance with the systems already in place.
We designed new interfaces for the data management, as required, but we also proposed new features for the customization of the tools. Every user of the platform has the possibility to create and customize their own templates in every section for:
- insert data
- view data
- research data
The second section was designed to have the same features of the first but applied to the different data and workflows, plus, there was the request to create a new virtual “control room“, a tool to ease the management of the payment flows and keep an eye of their status in an easy and efficient way.
The third section was designed by an external collaborator on the structure and element I already developed for the first two.
